I tried dying my hair platinum blonde but it turned bright yellow?

I am naturally a dirty blonde color. I dyed it black in 2009, then i dyed it burgundy red, then a bright red, then back to dirty blonde. I used Clairol XL1 Maximum Blonde Bleached Blonde to try to dye my hair a platinum blonde, like a white blonde. But it came out BRIGHT yellow. Its not that bad looking, but its too warm for my face, I have pale skin with pink undertones and am a cool, so warm yellow hair doesnt look good on me. How can I get it to go white blonde that would look good on a person with cool skin??
